Dr. L. Kevin Wells, a native of Mississippi, earned his bachelor of science from Mississippi College and his doctorate of dental medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Following dental school, he completed a residency in general practice dentistry in Columbus, OH, where he later entered private practice. He then pursued specialty training in endodontics at Ohio State University, where he earned both a master's degree and a certificate of graduate studies in endodontics. His master's research was published in the Journal of Endodontics.
Dr. Wells is married to Dr. Martha Wells, who serves as chief of dentistry at St. Jude Children's Hospital. They have three children: Luke, Sam, and Juliet. Outside of work, Dr. Wells enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and playing golf.
Dr. Wells is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, the Memphis Dental Society, and the Tennessee Association of Endodontists.
In 2013, Dr. Wells was honored with the "Outstanding Young Dentist of the Year Award" from the Memphis Dental Society in recognition of his contributions to organized dentistry in the Memphis community. He has also been inducted into the Richard Doggett Dean Honor Society at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. Dr. Wells has served on the board of the Memphis Dental Society and held the position of president for the 2022 – 2023 term.
Dr. L. Kevin Wells was amazing! He made my root canal experience much easier than I expected. What I really appreciated was how he walked me through the procedure step by step and explained what he was doing along the way. He took the time to make sure I understood everything and felt comfortable throughout the entire process.His assistant, Lauren, was great as well. She was very helpful, reassuring, and helped me through the whole process from beginning to end.I was nervous about having a root canal, but Dr. Wells and Lauren made the experience smooth and comfortable. Great communication, great care, and a great team. I would definitely recommend them!
I have been to Memphis endodontics twice now and had root canal done with dr. Wells this is by far the most amazing team I have met. Dr. Kevin wells is extremely professional caring and makes sure he answers all your questions and the staff is very warm and welcoming.
The. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The facilities first rate! Dr Wells showed compassion and great expertise. I have had several root canal procedures performed on me over the years, but none like this: I had only a twinge of pain during the procedure and no soreness after the local anesthetic wore off. I would certainly recommend him and will return to him should I have need of his care in the future. I cannot recommend him more highly!
I saw Dr Wells 9/17 with pain in my tooth I was X-ray , examined and diagnosed. It was decided to proceed with the treatment. A root canal was performed painlessly and I was given instructions for the postoperative care. The whole office staff were pleasant to deal with and the office was inviting! Don’t hesitate to use Dr Wells’s office for your treatment!!
The Dentist Kevin was awesome! I was terrified going in but everything went smooth.
